Author's Note: Yo! HAPPY NEW YEAR! It's been a pretty hectic year for me, I will admit that. But I am truly thankful for all the wonderful fans that have put up with me and stuck it out through the year. I only just noticed that my year anniversary has passed me by. Yep, that's right! I've been uploading stories onto this site for over a year now. Pretty hard to believe huh? Well anyway, this is a new story and the first GrimmjowXOrihime fanfic I've written. I hope you guys will enjoy and have a great New Year! Make the best of it!

Based on the song Blue Ogre by Vocaloid, mainly Kaito and Miku Hatsune.

Disclaimer: I do not own the anime or characters that I write about. I do however work very hard on my stories and love to create these fanfictions.

Each chapter will be named after the color blue in different languages.

Chapter 1: Aoi (Japanese)

A long time ago, there was a small village. The village was surrounded by golden fields of wheat and a dense, ominous forest. It was rumored that within the endless depths of the forest, there lived a ferocious demon.

The demon was said to be an Oni, an ogre with razor sharp fangs, long curved claws, and piercing blue eyes that could see into a person's soul. The Oni was why many of the villagers feared the forest. Very few were brave enough or stupid enough to venture into the forest, risking their life within its endless depths.

But one has to wonder as they hear stories and fantastical tales all their lives of this creature, is there truly such a beast living within the forest so close to the very village they live in? If that's true and such a fearsome monster does indeed exist, then why haven't you seen it?

Was the beast that terrified you as a child and haunted your nightmares, ever real? Did it once live and ravage villages like your own long ago but has long since died?

Was it just the ramblings of a hallucinating drunkard?

Or… does the Oni still lurk within the dark forest, just biding its time and is intelligent enough to evade being caught or seen by the likes of you?

I guess you'll just have to find out for yourself, won't you?

Are you brave enough to enter the forest you've heard horror stories of your entire life?

Or will you stay within the safety of your cozy home?
