The Beast Speaks for Him
Her normally bright eyes darkened as she saw the scene before her. Inuyasha stood in the arms of her rival, Kikyo. Her hands curled up, tears pooling from her chocolate brown eyes. She let her black hair cover her eyes. The half-demon looked up at her, his eyes widening. "Kagome, I--"
"I hate you Inuyasha!" she screamed as she ran. She didn't stop, even as she heard him call her name desperately. Am I not enough for you Inuyasha?! She cried in her mind. She didn't stop until she could barely breath. Collapsing onto the forest floor, she sobbed into her hands. Unknown to her, another presence was watching.
Female must be comforted
Silence Beast. This Sesshomaru can see that. He frowned. The miko that usually followed his bastard half-brother was still crying. He felt a small twinge of... what? Compassion? No, it couldn't be that. He held back the feeling of going out and wrapping his arms around her small frame. He growled lightly, shaking his head.
Go and comfort female. Mate must be comforted!
His growling stopped. What? Mate? You did not just say that!
He could almost feel the beast smirking And if I did?
He growled again. Quiet! I will not stoop down to help a pathetic human!
No, of course not. You were not just thinking about pulling her close, soothing her to make her stop crying--
Enough! I'll talk to you about that later... His Beast snickered then went quiet
Quietly, he made his way from the shadows of the trees. "Miko, what are you doing here?"
Kagome tensed and fell backward. "Sesshomaru-sama? I didn't see you" She quickly wiped the stray tears from her face.
"Why do you shed tears for my no-good half-brother?" Sesshomaru was puzzled. He had ran into her when she had been hurt by Inuyasha several times ago, yet he still didn't understand why she kept going back to him.
She sighed. "I'm not caring for that two-timer anymore!" she snarled. Sesshomaru was taken aback. She looked back at him with cold eyes.
He nodded. "If you want miko, you can stay with this Sesshomaru until you feel ready to go back to your friends." She looked up at him curiously. "Why are you helping me?"
Why was he helping her? Because you like her!

No, I just thought I should say something. Geez, you really need to lighten up...
He growled. Kagome took a step back. He noticed her movement and ceased his growling. "Miko, make your decision now" He turned and started walking away. She bit her lip, then remembering the scene again, her eyes become dark again and she followed Sesshomaru.
He heard her following him. The beast inside was leaping for joy. Mate trusts us!
She's not our mate. I'm just keeping an eye on her. She can detect jewel shards anyway
The beast laughed Say what you want, but she will be our mate, whether you like it or not...
