Onslaught!
"TORCH!" The lieutenant screamed across his shoulder. Two techs in commando suites came running down the corridor. You could tell by the band around their arm. A green band with the PK symbol in the middle. The commandos closest to the blast doors moved aside. A painful flash filled the corridor as the techs lit up the weld. Every one covered their eyes as the techs got to work. The microts felt like arns to the soldiers kneeling in the endless corridor. Only the lieutenant was standing. "GET READY YOU FOOLS"
A deadly silence filled the corridor. Time seemed to stand still as the light flashed out in a last sparkle of life. Then that sound. The sound of hands grabbing and fiddling about the Pulse rifles. The corridor was even darker now; the torch had sucked all light from the soldiers' eyes. Two commandos kneeled beside the blast door, which was still standing because of it's thickness and enormous weight. The others behind them taking to their feet. "BATTERING RAM"
Two grunts came running up with a huge metal battering ram. Holding position in front of the door. The lieutenant lifted his arm into the air.You could hear a pin drop. It was like all sound had been sucked out, and you were in a vacuum of nothingness. (Focus.Breathe.Breathe.Focus.)
The arm dropped.
The sound of squeaking metal penetrated their helmets as the ram made the door slowly fall forward. Dust flew up in the air as the door slammed to the ground. A light flash penetrated the cloud as one of the grunts took a hit right in the chest, falling back against the wall. The two commandos started to return the fire with suppressing fire bursts. "CHAAAAAAAARGE"
It all went so fast. Bolts of light every where. Screaming soldiers falling left and right, some with their limbs barely attached to their bodies. "MEDIC, FOR FRELL SAKE, MEDIC."
"FORGET THE MEDIC, BRING ME THE BANIK"
A Banik Stykari came out of the corridor. He started to cross the almost dead soldiers over to the other realm. He seemed not to notice the mayhem around him. Working his way from body to body. Cause that was what they were, bodies! Meat for the grinder. The Frontline of Peacekeeper commando shock-troops. Trained to kill and be killed. And that is what they did.
In the end, only the dust remained. At least the Banik died a free man. Unlike some!
