Don't pass me by
Don't pass me by another day,
soon my light will disappear,
had once been bright, now fades to grey.
See me, while it's still sheer.
Look just for once, beyond the shell,
behind this shape, worn over years,
which you used to know so well.
Something new is waiting here.
Go right ahead and do not fear,
for I more dread what you may find,
this truth I hid so well for years,
unknown to all mankind.
Accept this gift I offer you,
sheltered a lifetime in my heart,
all I am, eternal true,
to thee, my other part.
