Author's Note: I finally got a new computer! I've really missed writing. Anyway, this is kind of a test of the new computer and word processor I've got. It's short and kind of silly.
Joys of Windows Eight
"Finally! I thought it would never happen!" squealed Jess. She jumped out of her chair in Ops and danced around.
Becker stood near her, chuckling. She responded by running to him, and throwing her arms around him.
"Something you'd like to share, Jess?" asked Abby, smirking. Connor smiled at Becker.
The captain quickly let go of the young woman and took a step back.
Jess shot him a look, but answered quickly, "I've been working on that stupid Windows Eight all day! Finally, it let me in!"
Connor laughed and looked at Becker. "Really?" he asked but Becker just stared silently.
Connor shook his head and walked off. Abby lingered a bit, looking unconvinced. Finally she moved away too.
Jess grimaced at Becker. "Did you have to let me go like I had leprosy?"
He snickered. "Did you have to be so loud?"
"Yes, actually. You took two years to ask me out. I was venting."
He laughed. "I've seen you vent. That was something else."
"If dating me is such an embarrassment," Jess began.
Becker hushed her with a finger to her lips. "I didn't say that. I just don't think it's anyone else's business. Yet." He smirked. "The date might be horrible."
She smirked back. "It better not be. I just let Connor Temple think Windows 8 could possibly annoy me let alone beat me. You better make it worth my while."
Becker laughed as the tiny woman held her ground. "I will," he whispered, looking around quickly. The he dared to kiss her lightly on the lips.
Jess smiled. "That's better."
Becker laughed and nodded. "I'd better get back to work," he said.
Jess nodded and watched him go. Then she went back to the ADD. She accessed the camera to Ops and sent a short vid to Abby. She blushed and giggled.
A short while later, Abby called her mobile. "He's going to kill you, you know."
Jess just giggled. "He's security. Is it my fault he temporarily forgot all actions inside the ARC are subject to the cameras?"
Abby laughed. "I'm not sure you should remind him. At least, not if you want a second date."
"Or a second kiss," said Connor's voice over the phone. "Windows 8. Like I didn't know you were lying."
