When he came you me
And asked "Will you marry me?"
My answer was, of course, no.
That is what you do
When a stranger asks you to marry him.
You say no.
He let me be then,
But still remained persistent.
I continued to tell him no.
When he sent a servant,
A dolphin that was to persuade me,
I once again said no.
The dolphin continued to speak
And I began to understand.
But still I said no.
He told me many a great thing
About the Lord Poseidon,
But I had to say no.
The stories he told
Were incredible beyond imagination,
I forced myself to say no.
When the dolphin spoke his last word to me,
I had fallen hard for the lord of the sea.
I laughed when I said no.
And then Poseidon approached me again
And asked "Will you marry me?"
And for some reason I said yes.
