The moon shone brightly, illuminating the first snowfall of winter, and giving the forest that mystical feeling. A lone figure wandered aimlessly through the thick winter wood, winding its way through the empty branches and icicles that littered the ground. Winter had come early this year it seemed. The figure continued on, and soon came to a small clearing. As the moonlight shone, the figure was revealed to be a young girl, no older that 17. Ebony hair fell to her hips, bangs curtaining her face. High cheek bones came underneath piecing emerald eyes framed by thick lashes. Perfectly kissable lips let out puffs of foggy breath, winter chills cutting through her hoodie. She rubbed her arms in the effort to warm herself, but they were failing miserably. Her ivory skin was flushed with the cold, and her fingers and toes looked frost bitten. She glanced around, eyes searching for a recognizable landmark. In trying to run away from her orphanage, she had gotten utterly lost in the woods where she could spend hours running around in the snowdrifts.
As she reached yet another clearing, the moon seemed to shine even brighter then before. Little did the girl know, she stood atop of a frozen pond, and the ice cracked underneath her as the moon blazed like silver fire. Her body plunged into the icey depths, pulling her into its cold embrace. Moon beams wrapped around her, caressing her like a lost child. As it did, her hair changed to fuse with hues of blue, white and silver. The winter winds gathered and swirled snow, creating a blizzard of blinding silver. Her eyes flashed open, green gone and replaced by liquid silver. As they opened, the tornado of winter in its purest form shot straight into the midnight sky, pulsating out across the world*. The girl was lowered back to the ground, and another figure laid a staff of white infront of her.
" I name you Everest Winter, may you bring winter and be eternally young. Be happy young one, for your courage will be needed by another when the time comes." The figure clothed is white stepped away, moonbeams carrying his back to where he had been only moments before. The girl, known now as Everest Winter, stood on shaking legs reached out with one hand and grabbed onto the staff. It shot out a burst of winters magic, her eyes widened in wonder.
"Amazing." Was all she whispered, and her laughter rang out through the night as she discovered her newfound powers and joy.
Unbeknownst to the girl, when the flashes had gone out, the Guardians and Jack Frost felt the birth of another immortal.
Authors Note.
Ello! Hope your liking the story so far! This probably will follow along the plot of the movie, though I have yet to seen it, so this will be the first piece, just going off of what I have seen in trailers! Hope you enjoy my story, as this is my second work I have posted up. If you haven't noticed their is a * at the end of "As they opened, winter in its purest form shot straight into the midnight sky, pulsating around the world" this is because it will look very similar to when North used the Auroras in the trailer to summon the guardians. And like in Eragon, the movie, when Brom and Galbatorix were able to sense the bonding of a rider and dragon, it is like that. Thanks and I hope you like my story.
Cheers,
Iris Darkflower
