She's all I can think about. Mia Thermopolis. Her blonde hair, her gray eyes. She doesn't know I spend all my time thinking about her. When I am supposed to be working on my homework, I write songs about her. When I'm eating dinner, I imagine how we might have dinner together in the future.

"I'm told that I'm a victim of obsession."

In school I see her pass by with Kenny, her boyfriend. I try to hide my hurt feelings, but I can't help it.

"Well I turn pale when she walks by."

I know my face reveals all, but its too hard to remain blank. Lilly always asks me why I look pale green when I see Mia and Kenny together. I don't tell her, of course. Its my secret, and mine alone. I don't know why I love her so much, but I think its her eyes. They're so beautiful. So deep and soulful.

"I am lost in her eyes."

I'm always thinking about her. Every day, all the time.

"She is always on my mind."

In Gifted and Talented, I help her with her math homework. Sometimes I accidentally-on-purpose bump her knee to see her response. Sometimes I see a faint blush and a small smile. She ducks her head, and the bell rings. I want to tell her how I feel, but I physically cannot.

"If I could blink,

If I could get my legs to move,
Well this could be the day I get this girl to love me."

I'm walking out of last period, and I see her and Kenny together. His arm is around her, and he's taller than her. I'm tall too, but not as tall as Kenny. He towers over many people. I imagine us together, and as I'm walking, I head right into a locker.

"She had turned from a sound
Well I must have cried out loud."

"Ouch!" I cry.

"Are you okay Michael?" Mia asks. I notice she's heard my crash. In fact, it seems as if everyone in the hallway witnessed by humiliation.

"Yeah I think I'm okay," I try to smile and she smiles back. Then Kenny takes her hand and leads her away. I follow with my eyes until she rounds the corner, away from me.
