Shall I compare thee?

A/N: This story is dedicated to my good friend mako_eyez. (Knock her dead Laguna!)

He sat on the edge of the bench, his palms sweating madly.

He was supposed to meet Julia…THE Julia.

The one he used to listen to every night at the bar. The one he talked to privately in her room.

The one who based her hit song, "Eyes on me" On him. Laguna. The one…who was recently divorced.

He remembered how she had called, sobbing wildly, asking if she could see him.

So here he was.

It was 9:00 at night. A street lamp above Laguna's head flickered and he checked his watch.

Julia was going to be here soon.

After waiting for a few more minutes, a small yellow cab pulled up in front of the entrance to the park where Laguna sat.

The door to the cab opened and the most beautiful woman that Laguna had ever known stepped out.

Julia didn't try to be smooth; she didn't try to be calm. She ran up the stone steps to the bench Laguna was sitting at and flung her arms around his neck.

"Oh God Laguna! I've missed you so much!" She cried.

"I've missed you too Julia." Laguna replied, stroking her hair.

Julia wiped away her tears and sat on the bench, across from Laguna.

The two began talking, reminiscing about the past. Soon, Laguna found himself telling Julia about Raine and Julia found herself telling Laguna details about her divorce.

"I can't stand it." She told Laguna, smoothing her hair. "I thought he was the one…"

Her voice trailed off and she lowered her head.

Laguna smiled and raised her chin.

"Life goes on." He heard himself saying. "I should know."

Julia smiled also.

"Laguna…"

After talking a little bit more, Laguna and Julia went for a walk around the park.

Laguna grasped Julia's hand and Julia leaned her head against his shoulder.

They both knew how they felt about each other…they just didn't know what to say.

Laguna looked at his watch.

"It's getting late."

Julia nodded sadly.

"Julia…" Laguna began. "You know…I've always…"

"Yes?" Julia asked, a tinge of excitement in her voice.

"I wrote this…for you." Laguna took out a crumpled up piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to Julia.

Julia smiled at Laguna and unfolded the paper.

Shall I compare thee?

Shall I compare thee to a rose?

For the scent of you drifts to my nose.

Shall I compare thee to the sun setting at night?

For you are a truly beautiful sight.

Shall I compare thee to a Christmas treat?

For you are well and truly sweet.

Shall I compare thee? That wouldn't be fair.

For in such a beauty there's no need to compare.

Julia's eyes shimmered with tears and she threw her arms around Laguna. Laguna hugged her tightly and whispered in her ear, "I love you."

Julia smiled. "And I love you."

A/N: I don't think I've ever made one of my stories this sappy. Heh, anyway, back to business. This story was dedicated to mako_eyez and the poem, "Shall I compare thee?" was written by him.
