I love poetry sooo much, but I don't think I write it very well. Here's one of my poems, dedicated to Eragon, that I actually like. It's kinda short, but oh well, I was never one for super-long epic poems anyway.

Darkness Takes Over

Night falls, encircling me

With its powerful grip

It takes me away,

Imprisons me in places

That make men tremble.

I wish to restore

The order that was,

But dark's grip tightens.

It is too powerful

For one like me.

I cannot fight alone…

But I am alone.

I stand all alone,

Watching shadows and death

Swallow up my world.

Who will guide me?

Who will give counsel

In this bitter dusk?

Will none rise, help,

Or heed my call?

The beast rages on.

Darkness has, indeed, fallen.

Like I said, this is dedicated to Eragon, because no one can stand alone to fight. That's why he has Saphira. I love the Inheritance trilogy and I hope this poem paid adequate homage to it. If you like this poem, please review and tell me what you thought, because I don't always do poetry right.
