The Ring
By: Mishka-chan
Sakura watched the damn ring glinting, reminding her, taunting her, that she would never have what she wanted most. It fit his finger so well. It wouldn't come off. Sakura knew she had tried, various ways, to get it off. She watched as the hand reached up and moved a lock of hair out of her Sasuke's eyes. Sparkling, against ebony hair as he leaned forward and kissed her Sasuke. Her Sasuke smiled; he never did that for her. He leaned forward laughing. That damn laugh was taunting her. Showing her what she could never have. She shouldn't be here. She knew that it was their honeymoon not hers. She had come anyway. As if she hadn't tortured herself enough. Forcing herself to sit through their wedding. Hearing his voice say a soft 'I do.' Hearing her Sasuke's voice repeat those simple words that tore her heart apart. Her Sasuke was pouring champagne now; it should have been her champagne. She watched as that hand, with that finger, with what should have been her ring, picked up the expensive glass, that never should have been entrusted into his hands, and drink her champagne.
They were giddier off of love than the drink. They were damn happy and she knew it. But it was her happiness that he was experiencing with her Sasuke. They leaned in again and this time did not come back up. Clothes were thrown off of suddenly too hot bodies.
"Ahh, Sasuke!" She couldn't watch anymore. She sat down just below the window facing away from the room. She listened as she heard him moan. "Nnn… Sasuke…" He almost whispered, but it was like a booming sound in her ears. "Mmm… I'm ready." She heard as every thrust made the headboard hit the wall. She heard the moans from both parties. "Harder, Faster… Ahh!"
"Ngh! I love you, Sasuke." She felt the tears well in her eyes. She felt them fall down her cheek. Why was it every thing she ever wanted was given to him?
"I love you too, Naruto." She stood and began to walk away. –Don't look back, Don't look back, DON'T LOOK BACK! –
She turned and saw her ring glinting on the nape of her Sasuke's neck. No not Sakura's. His. His ring, his champagne, his Sasuke, his husband. It was then that she felt her heart break and fall into the dirt at her feet.
