Inari sighed. How did she get herself in these situations? Oh, yeah by being an outstanding citizen. Not.
She followed the dark elf hastily as he jumped into a swamp. She groaned as she stepped into the murky water.
"Why is it so important that you must fight Percer?"
The dark elf, Aldrizzt, looked back at her with an aggravated look.
"He's one of the Six Fragments of Chaos. Why not?"
Inari resisted the urge to hit him up side the head, "He's dangerous Aldrizzt! Even if we both teamed up against him, we would not be able to beat him. In fact, we'd both end up dead."
"You're such a pessimist you know that Inari."
The draconian shot him a glare that prompted him to shut his mouth. She clenched his shoulder harshly. He hadn't noticed when she put her hands on his person, but with just a flick of her wrist and she could easily dislocate his shoulder. Instead, he stilled under her touch.
"Listen and listen well because I am not repeating myself. If we encounter Percer, we will not engage him. Is that clear?"
By the way, she was holding his shoulder. She wasn't giving him a choice in the matter. She loosened her hold on him when he nodded. She brushed imaginary dust off her kimono top as if she had sullied herself touching the elf.
"Let's go."
"Right."
A few hours later, a Black Dragon could be seen emerging from the mountain side, and if anyone had bothered squinting they would have seen a Dark Elf on the Draconian's back.
