Keeping a Secret

Number 53 of the 100 Theme Challenge. Nothing belongs to me! Sits in a corner pouting This is based the day after the events of Seeking Solace...

"Hiiiiiiiiii, Numbuh 5!" Numbuh 3 or Kuki Sanban squealed throwing her arms around her best friend.

"Um... Hey, Numbuh 3," Numbuh 5 or Abby Lincoln said looking confused.

After all the last time she had seen her friend, Kuki had been very upset and sad over a recent breakup with her ex-boyfriend. Now she was back to normal. Just the happy-go-lucky girl everyone knew and loved.

"Where have you been?" Kuki demanded stepping back to look at her friend.

Abby looked at her watch. "What do ya mean? Numbuh 5 was only gone for 14 hours. And she TOLD ya that she had family stuff to do."

"Oh yeah. I forgot. It's just so much has happened that I feel like you were gone a whole year!" Kuki said twirling around dramatically.

Abby wondered if she should have left the girl alone with the boys for 14 hours. It seemed to have gone to the girl's head.

Speaking of which...

"Numbuh 3? Where are the boys anyway?" Abby asked looking around the deserted tree house as if expecting a bald boy, a short Aussie or a chubby pilot to pop out of the floor.

"Oh they went to the movie theater but I wanted to wait for you," Kuki said simply.

"Why?" Abby asked sitting down on one of the couches. Kuki sat down next to her bouncing up and down excitedly.

"Numbuh 3, please calm down. What happened?" Abby asked.

Kuki stopped bouncing and sat solemnly, though the image was slightly broken by the fact that Kuki was grinning to the ends of the Earth.

"Well last night when you said we could talk some other time... well I was kinda upset," Kuki admitted.

Abby looked sad.

"I'm am sorry I wasn't there for ya..." She started.

Kuki looked up and smiled.

"No! Now I'm GLAD you weren't here!" She said.

Abby turned to her with surprise written all over her face and Kuki continued.

"You see I decided that I needed to talk to SOMEONE so I went to Wally's room. I was still really bummed and all but he comforted me. Finally he sorta admitted that he liked me, so I helped him out and... well he and I are together!" Kuki finished with another happy bounce.

Abby had a stunned expression on her face that rapidly turned into a smile/smirk.

"Numbuh 5 TOLD ya that it'd happen someday," She said smugly, crossing her arms over her chest.

Kuki flushed a bit before flashing her a grin.

"Yeah well just don't tell anyone yet, ok?" She asked, smiling face turning serious.

Abby frowned. "Why not?"

"Me and Wally wanna keep it quiet for now. Is that ok?" Kuki asked looking the girl in the eye.

Abby looked uncomfortable. "Well it's y'all's decision but if ya don't want anyone to know then why'd ya tell Numbuh 5?"

"Cause you're my best friend, silly!" Kuki said smiling again.

A smile started on Abby's face.

"Alright then. Numbuh 5'll keep your secret. Anyway... congratulations!" She said grinning fondly at her best girlfriend.

Kuki giggled giddily. "Thanks! I'm SO happy! Wally is SO much better than Greg and he says he's loved me for a long time."

"Tell me about it." Abby muttered.

Louder she said, "And the best part is that Wally'd NEVER hurt ya."

"Yeah. There's that too." Kuki said smiling softly.

The picture slowly dims, showing two smiling girls on a couch getting fainter and fainter as if someone has drawn a light curtain over them.

-THE END-

Ok... I actually think this could have been better but I really felt like I had to write a one shot tonight. I dunno why. shrugs

Anyway, review if you want to but if you don't it doesn't really matter. Either way. Though it WOULD be nice if I knew what you thought. Grins And I told myself I wouldn't say to review in this story. I'm hopeless.

I'll let you go now. Caio! But I WILL be back:)
