Disclaimer: I do not own Moulin Rouge, or any of the people/characters and songs that are in it. Neither do I own some of the other songs that will appear in this fan fic. This is just a piece of fun, because I think Moulin Rouge is a really good film.

Christian knelt on the floor as he held Satine's body. She was limp and lifeless. Tears ran down his face as he stroked her auburn hair. It was only now, at the end, that he really believed that she truly loved him. He gently laid her body down on the floor and brushed the wisps of hair from her face. He kissed her one last time and started to move away.

# Satine saw Christian, right in front of her. Her vision became clouded and hazy, and Christian's figure became distorted. She wanted to stay with him, but somebody was calling her. She felt like she was going down a dark tunnel, but she could see a pinprick of light at the end. Satine moved further down the tunnel and towards the light. The voice that was calling her gradually became louder. Suddenly a person was standing next to her. She wasn't religious, but she knew who it was. The man helped her up and she stood about the same height as him. Neither of them was overly tall or short. Satine opened her mouth to speak, but the man spoke first. At the time she didn't understand what he'd told her, but she knew shed understand when she needed to. Satine felt herself moving away from the light and the friendly man. She sensed that Christian was still there and she felt her body being laid down onto the floor. Her vision started to come back into focus and her eyes fluttered open#

Christian looked down at Satine's body once more, and started to turn away. He stopped, and looked back at her, because something seemed different. Her eyes were open, and she blinked. He looked again, and again she blinked. He smiled, as something told him that he wasn't just imagining this. "Christian," Satine whispered, "Christian" Christian glanced around the room, to make sure that he wasn't hearing things, but the others had heard it as well. He moved back closer to Satine and his hand met hers. Satine took his hand in her own and squeezed it. She tried to get up, and failed, because she was too weak. Christian lifted her and carried her off the stage to her dressing room. He placed her on the bed that was situated in the corner of the room and the doctor was sent for. "Satine, I.." Christian started. He paused. He didn't know what to say next. "Satine, I love you, and I only really believed that you loved me, when I thought it was too late. I'm sorry, I should have believed you earlier." "Christian, I always knew that you loved me, but I wasn't sure in myself that I loved you, but now I know that I love you and that," Satine breaks into song "I, will always love you" Christian started to sing as well. "I, can't help loving you" they smiled, remembering the time that they sang it on top of the elephant, and all the other good times that they'd had. "You will write that book wont you, about our life?" Satine asked as Christian absentmindedly played with a strand of her hair. "Yes, of course I will, I promised you I would," he stopped and paused, "but." he carried on "I want you to do something for me" Satine looked at him with a puzzled expression upon her face. Christian lifted his had and ran his fingers down her jaw line, and rested them on her chin. He tilted her head up slightly so he could look straight into her eyes, and spoke again. "I want you, to name the book for me," he said, ending his statement by kissing her.
