Title: Of Second Chances
Rating: PG

Authors Note: So, this is quite obviously JimPam, or Jam rather. I know it's really short, but I felt it was best that way. To the point. Enjoy, and please review!
Of Second Chances
She'd left her fiancé for him.
She'd left her fiancé for him, but couldn't even drop an email to him to mention it.
She loved him; loved him like she'd never known what love was before.
He didn't know.
Sometimes she thought he'd never know.
It wasn't her place, she told herself. She'd had her chance. Now he'd found someone else.
She was pretty, she'd mused upon first seeing Karen.
Very pretty. Exotic, really. Sheherself wasn't pretty. She was pale, her hair lackluster.
Karen was beautiful.
What guy didn't want a beautiful women?
He was happy without her, she'd tell herself. Sometimes she'd almost have herself convinced, until she'd notice him staring at her longingly. But no, he was happy with his beautiful, exotic women. The gazes meant nothing. Of course they meant nothing.
They had to mean nothing.
Because if they didn't, that would mean she'd have to admit to herself it was her turn to act.
She didn't want to act. She may have been the new and improved Pam, version 2.0, but admittance of feelings? Admittance of love? Oh, that was pushing it. That was definitely testing her limits. Her self-confidence may have improved after she left Roy, but it takes years to undo that kind of extensive damage.
Damage.
Oh, no he wouldn't want that either. Best not to act at all. No expression of feelings means no rejection.
But he'd told her he loved her before. He wouldn't have rejected her then…
But he was happy now. With his beautiful, exotic Karen. Yep, happy.
But it wasn't enough.
It wasn't enough, and she knew it. She had to act. She didn't want to act, but she had to act.
Karen left. The beautiful exotic beauty left him, and it seemed he wasn't all that torn up about it.
She watched him from afar, and it wasn't enough.
So she acted.
"It's not enough," she'd told him.
And he sensed the deeper meaning. "I know."
And so he closed the gap between them, their lips meeting in a second kiss.
A second chance.
A/N: Alright, so I know this would technically be their third kiss because of the drunken Pam one, but I've taken the liberty of ignoring that. Because this sounds better. Enjoy. ;-)
