Most knew her as Lucy Heartfilia, a celestial spirit mage resident of Fairy Tail, Magnolia's wizard guild. Additionally, they knew her as the former heiress of the Heartfilia Konzern, but…

Where is light, there is also darkness. Angels and demons dance in an eternal rondo.

Everything has secrets engraved deep within their body, secrets that aren't supposed to be known by any others but themselves.

Such was this peculiar being's case.

Lucille, Devi, Chikere, Raziela, Theia… She's been called by these names and even more during the course of time. For she, indeed, was a being known far wide over the world, being the holder of the One Magic, the Origin of this world's existence.

And, in fact, her existence wasn't a solitary being. She was born as part of a trio, from the twisted minds of a creator god, most likely. They didn't know the purpose of their existence, nor who was it that created them. They only knew that they had to witness this world as it was born and as it would crumble.

She, Mavis and Zeref—three immortals wandering the land since their creation.

The first to be born was Zeref, the one that came to be known as a Dark Mage due to the magic he was born with, the Dark Magic Essence of the Black Arts themselves, and Death became associated with his name soon enough.

The second to appear in this trio was Mavis, the founder of Fairy Tail and holder of Fairy Heart, the Eternity Magic. She's but a spirit now, as her body was encased in crystal, but she keeps keeping watch over the world even in this form.

And then, the third to be created was none other than Lucille, holder of the One Magic, the Primordial Magic.

If one was a Fairy, the second was a Spriggan and the third, the world remembered as a Deva. Three spirits, united by the Will of Creation, Life and Death. They found themselves as siblings… And lovers alike… Pitiful beings, tormented by their own whimsical hearts. But even these immortal beings knew pain, maybe more than anyone else, for one sought Death, another the Meaning of Life and the last one wanted True Love.

But as she searched for Love, Lucille has came across Natsu Dragneel, who fascinated her from first sight. There was something about this man that made her feel joy like she's never felt before, and thus, she followed him back to Fairy Tail, which she joined, as a celestial spirit mage.

Since then, quite a while has passed and finally, fate brought her and her siblings together once more, on the same island of Tenrou.

There, unexpected things took place, destinies overlapping as Acnologia appeared. This sole dragon was enough to bring fear in any of the three immortals' hearts, but Mavis was quick to encase the island in time in order to escape the roar of the dragon.

Seven years thus passed.

That was when Lucy noticed something strange about her body and her soul. Something was missing from how it was before and slowly, something was surfacing, something she knew before, but something that was oddly familiar to her.

The One Magic…

Back in Magnolia, she stood in the middle of the night in her room and looked out on the window towards the moon.

"Tonight, too… It keep growing inside me…" She murmured, as if the moon would hear her.

She looked at her hand, feeling that strange power surging through her veins. It made her wonder how did this happen, but she guessed that some kind of seal placed over the core of the One Magic within her was slowly breaking because of the external action involving time-space magic that Mavis casted while on Tenrou.

Soon, this power might take over her, or she could use it as she pleased. She didn't know which future was in sight, but oddly, she didn't care enough to think deeply about it. Ever since then, the day she was born in this world… She never cared too much about her existence as vessel for this Primordial Magic. But seeing how it seemed to change her life now, after all these centuries, she couldn't help but recall that day when she first opened her eyes.

800 years ago, during the Third Dragon King Festival…

In a village ravaged by the terror of War, in a world scarce of magic, she, a godly spirit, was born by taking the body of a young woman with long golden hair.

One dies while another lives, in this kind of world lambs were sacrificed to please anyone listening to the humans' prayers, may they be gods or demons.

This girl that had been sacrificed on this bloody altar the spirit woke up was a meaningless death in an attempt to make gods protect the village from the rage of the dragons.

The villagers themselves thoughts this to be a demonic possession and, faced with the consequences of their ritual, tried to kill the resurrected woman.

Swords, stones, sticks, fire, drowning… They've tried it all on her as they kept her chained. The pain was real, but no matter what they did to her, Death wouldn't accept her being. She didn't know for how long she went on like that, but she remembers clearly what was her saving.

Not knowing how to speak, not knowing what the others were telling her, she was solely attracted to the silver light of a key a guard held around his neck. Each time she would be taken away for more torture, she would see that key, the sole thing that she really understood amidst all this chaos. It wasn't long after she discovered that key that she yearned, just like a child for a toy, to hold it, and reached her hand. She remembered how, after noticing her attempt to grasp that key, they cut off her hand, but it only grew back after hours of agony. And yet, the same night, that same guard happened to sleep while guarding the cage she was kept in.

Her fingers slid through the cold bars of the door keeping her in that deep darkness and with a stick, got the key from the guard's neck. She was like a child, overjoyed as she got this thing she so long wanted to have, but as soon as her fingers touched the cold surface of the key, everything around her exploded with a force unseen before in a human being.

The world around was quick to catch fire, and everybody was too busy in the middle of the chaos to run away to observe the almost crumbling cage and the missing monster that lived there.

That girl alone, grasping a silver staff tightly, as if her instincts told her that this thing alone she mustn't let go of, ran away into the night, not turning to look back even once. She was free. That much, she too understood…

That was the first time she used the power of the celestial spirits, but that spirit too, Sceptrum, was lost as it was destroyed. Yet hence that day, she was able to use this magic, becoming a celestial spirit mage. But maybe, the power to do this was the girl's that died in order to allow her to come into this world and for that, for the chance to meet these friends of hers, the spirits, Lucy was grateful to the former her.

"It's been so long since then, but I can still remember, can't I? That pain as well…" She whispered to herself, slightly frowning as she returned to the present day, shaking her head in order to get rid of that dark past. Never again, she told herself, would she have to go through that.

"Well, maybe it's time for me to go to sleep. Tomorrow… As Master instructed us, I'll leave in order to train for the Games as well…" She smiled, looking at the sole thing that brought her joy in this era, the mark of Fairy Tail branded onto her hand. This thing, no matter what, she wanted to protect and bring glory back to. And for that, she was ready to use the mystic powers about to awaken that existed inside of her, only to win and show the world that Fairy Tail was eternal. The guild which her sister founded and which she now called her family… was eternal.
