Jane isn't quite sure why she does it. Maybe it's something to do with the fact Maura looks totally adorable when she's trying to be stern. Or that it's totally hilarious. It's become a habit of late. Ever since they moved in together, if Maura works late, Jane will find Jo and Bass and make the scruffy little dog ride on the tortoise's shell. This always earns a disproving look and a lecture with something like "Bass is old now" or "Contrary to your beliefs, Jo does not like this" from Maura. But, Jane has found Maura's kryptonite. The one thing that makes Maura melt and pull her in for a kiss. She pouts. She juts out her bottom lip slightly and tilts her head as though she were an innocent puppy. It's stupid and childish and Jane knows it. That doesn't mean she'll ever stop doing it though. Just getting to see Maura roll her eyes is disbelief and annoyance that she is so much of a pushover is enough to make all the wasted time of the lectures worth it.
