The Love of The Master
By: Shlee Verde
Summary: Missing scene for AotC. Very short little fic that I wrote at my friend's house a few nights ago after watching the movie. Sorry any more info would give the story away. Oh and as always, NO SLASH.
Disclaimer: I don't own Obi and Ani - I have to give them back to Lucas.
The Love of The Master
The pain was intense. The wounds to his arm and leg may have looked minor, but they hurt like Sith.
The Master pushed the pain to the back of his mind, focusing on the duelers on the other side of the hanger. Pride filled him as he watched the skill of his young Padawan, the boy was a natural fighter - and he would one day rival the skill of Master Yoda.
But apparently that day was not today.
Obi-Wan Kenobi's heart nearly stopped as Count Dooku's lightsaber slashed through his Padawan, cutting his arm off at the elbow. The Sith could have killed the boy then - and for a horrible second Obi-Wan feared that he would. But instead the old man force-shoved his apprentice across the hanger and into his legs. Obi-Wan looked at his apprentice - the boy was barely conscious.
Suddenly Obi-Wan's own pain mattered very little.
Obi-Wan glanced up; Dooku was currently occupied - by Yoda. As stimulating as it was to watch the elderly Master fight, it was not what was important right now.
All that mattered was his Padawan.
Gritting his teeth, Obi-Wan forced his body to shift; somehow Obi-Wan managed to get into a hunched sitting position. Using his good arm and the Force, he pulled his injured apprentice into his arms. Supporting the boy with his injured left arm as best he could, he gently brushed the fingers of his right hand against the semi-conscious boy's cheek. "Anakin", he called softly.
He watched as the boy's pain filled eyes focused on him. "Obi-Wan?" he forced out with a raspy voice.
Obi-Wan could see the pain, confusion, and fear in his apprentice's eyes, could hear them in his voice.
He ran a comforting hand through his Padawan's hair. "It's all right, Anakin", he soothed, holding his Padawan's eyes with his own. "It's all right. Rest."My Son he added mentally, pushing the words and a sleep suggestion over the bond that he shared with his apprentice.
Before the boy's eyes closed, Obi-Wan caught a glimpse of all the trust and love his Padawan held for him. Yes Father the boy murmured over the bond before he drifted into a healing sleep.
Obi-Wan held his boy close to him, trying not to look at what remained of the arm, afraid that he might be sick.
The boy would be all right; Obi-Wan would make sure of it. He knew that he could not afford to lose Anakin. The pain of it would destroy him.
With one last glance at his son's face, Obi-Wan looked up to watch the battle that would decide both of their fates.
The End
A/N: Well, definitely not my best work. But please review anyway, pretty please. And no flames. Love ya, Verde. :)
