One year later

It had been a year. A whole year. One year since Sherlock had jumped. John was sitting in Speedeys café, right bellow 221B. He looked around the café. All those people who Sherlock could have read instantly. The was a ginger woman staring down at the table. It was obvious she was trying not to cry. He may not have been a consulting detective but he could tell that the red-head had lost someone close to her. John got up and sat down next to her.

"Hello" He said

"Hi" she responded looking relieved to have something to take her mind off her loss. John noticed her Scottish accent with interest.

"I'm John"

"Amy" They sat in silence for a moment, the Amy spoke up " So, who did you lose?" John wasn't phased he was used to people reading his life like it was a book.

"My flatmate. He was my best friend, and I was his only friend. How about you?"

"I lost my best friend too. It was a year ago. He was shot."

"He jumped off a building. One year ago."

"My friend was amazin'. He had the weirdest dress sense."

"Mine wore a long trench coat and a scarf. He had this super hair." said John smiling at the bitter-sweet memories.

"Same here. He had these cheek bones that were just so high ya know." For the first time in a year John laughed. He actually laughed! Amy was starting to giggle too.

" My friend was a complete dork when it came to social etiquette." said John

"It was like he was brought up on another planet!" Said Amy smiling from ear to ear at her inside joke. "and he was so clever"

"He was the smartest man I knew"

"Too clever for his own good."

"Too clever to be dead."

"He was. Far too clever. If there was someway around death he's the only man I know who could find it."

"I bet they're still alive out there, somewhere."

"John, his name was the Doctor. If you ever find him tell him to go back to the girl that waited."

"I will, and Amy if you ever meet Sherlock Holmes tell him to get back to his blogger."

"Well then John... I don't even know your last name."

"Watson, my name is John Watson. What about you?"

"Amelia Pond."

"Good bye Amelia Pond."

"Good bye John Watson." And with that the two strangers and unlikely friends parted ways both of their hearts a little bit lighter.

AN: That was my first go at writing John. Please review. There will be a sequel.
