*kyu* Well tis my first Kingdom Hearts story~! I haven't written much, but
this story 'twil be full of fluffy goodness you can just swim in...Sora x
Riku and one-sided Sora x Kairi. I'm going to make Kairi be a 'good'
character even though I don't really like her. XP
A Few Day's Time Chapter One - "Like"
A girl, no older than 14, sat peacefully on the bridge of Destiny Islands. She swung her feet back and forth, in a coordinate motion, and looked out at the harmonious setting sky. The sun was slowly sinking under the ocean horizon, hazing the sky with warm shades of red and orange. A light zephyr blew her short red hair, and she turned to the boy sitting next to her.
"What do you think is out there, Sora?" She asked him.
The boy, Sora, was leaning against the wood stands of the small platform that the bridge connects to. His brown hair stuck up in all directions, but traveled with the wind. He turned his head and stared at the girl with his bright blue eyes.
"I don't know, Kairi, I guess we'll just have to go and find out." Sora then faced back out to the sunset, closing his eyes and resting on the stand.
"I really like you."
This caught Sora completely off guard, and he swung his head to stare at her. Seeing her smile, he assumed she was only saying that of a friend.
"I really like you too, Kairi."
By the sound of his voice, she knew he wasn't talking about the same 'like' as she was. Her smile faded away and she turned to look at her feet swinging...slow...slower...still.
"What's wrong?" Sora noticed the sadness in her expression.
"I....you...don't..." She struggled with her words, diverting her attention to the ground. "Never mind. Just, never mind..."
Sora stared at his friend curiously, but let it go. He faced the sunset once again as the sun slowly dissapeared and the shades of red and orange gradually turned blue and black.
"Well...we should be heading back now, it's already dark..." Kairi stood up, brushing away small grains of sand off her shirt.
"...Yeah..." Sora got up as well, and the two started heading back.
