Prologue
The Kanto Region. It was described as a wonderful place by many. Overflowing with pokemon of all different shapes and sizes. It was always seen as a untroubled place. Every inch of fear was distinguished when a certain boy of the age of ten took down Team Rocket.
Or so, everybody thought it was.
Darkness. It was all he saw before him. A vicious spirit carrying a deadly plague as it swarmed about the cities. Many people were blind. Only those who believed him saw the upcoming threat.
And those people who believed him were only a small crowd of people. The wisest, he could consider them.
Grunting, he rose from the mahogany chair before his desk. He ran a hand through his gainsboro grey hair, exhaling as he did so. They were so blind. So, so blind.
"Samuel?"
He was snapped out of his thoughts by the voice of artic blue haired man, who was accompanied by a platinum blonde woman.
He turned his gaze over to the two, a small smile working it's way onto his face. But it was fake.
"Are you alright Sam?" The platinum blonde asked, placing her hands on her hips. She always looked intimidating when she did this.
"I'm fine Cynthia." He nodded, "Just... thinking."
"Sureeee." Cynthia voiced in an unconvinced tone, narrowing her warm grey eyes.
"Cynth," The artic blue haired male raised his hand, "Now is not the time."
Cynthia rolled her eyes, folding her arms as she did so. "Whatever you say Steven."
"So Samuel, why did you summon us here?" Steven questioned, whilst straightening his tie.
"It's about-" Oak swallowed, trying to think. What was it about? "-It's about them."
"Oh boy!" A fourth voice joined the conversation, although it seemed to be in a less serious tone compared to the others. "Them again? Listen Oak, they won't harm us. They're just a bunch of thugs!"
"Shut it, Lance!" Cynthia snapped, glaring over at the redhead who had just appeared at the door way.
"Yeah, yeah." Lance grinned, "Sorry Princess."
"Unnecessary Lance!" Steven warned, his tone cold.
"Now, let's not get into a fight here!" Oak frowned, "We're here to talk, not to bicker!"
"Samuel's right." The Sinnoh champion agreed, "Less bickering, more talking."
"Sorry Princess." Lance repeated.
Steven shot a bitter stare over at Lance, who opened his mouth to say another sly remark, but then realised that it will just make things worse.
"Now, let's just have civilized conversation." Cynthia spoke firmly, eyeing Lance directly.
They all nodded in agreement, and a cold, intense silence filled Oak's office.
"So, about them," Lance sighed, "What's happened?"
"Nothing's happened..." Oak stated, striding over to the window. "...Yet..."
He looked across at the scene before him.
Children, running about the park with no care in the world, chasing after each other using sticks as swords and little rocks as pretend pokeballs.
Everything was perfect.
But it was all about to change...
