Joey and Chandler had always been best friends. They were more like brothers than friends. But for Joey, all that changed when he started dating Monica. Of course Joey still loved Monica because they were best friends, but he was still jealous of their relationship. Chandler had not only moved out, but he spent all his spare time with her. Joey couldn't blame him, because that's what happens when you love someone, especially after they get married, but he just wished that Chandler would show him some attention and spend some time with him.
Now Chandler was feeling a bit guilty because he hadn't seen as much of Joey recently as he had liked. Due to the rush of being newly weds and all, he had spent every spare moment he could with Monica. So, Chandler decided to go and spend the evening with his best friend.
"Hey buddy! I'm here" he shouted as he waltzed into his old apartment.
"Joe? Hello, where are you?"
He was about to leave when he heard a sound from the bedroom. He walked over and put his ear to the door. He could hear a muffled sob from inside. What's up him?
Chandler walked in the room without knocking, to discover his best mate, curled up on the bed crying.
"Joe, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, I'm fine"
"You know you might be an actor, but I'm not stupid"
"It doesn't matter anyway"
"Yes it does, it matters to me because you're my best friend"
"It's so stupid"
"It's not stupid if you're this upset about something Joey" Chandler said, going to sit beside him.
"It's just, my sister isn't very well, I can't keep in a relationship for more than a few days and I'm on my own"
"Oh my gosh Joey, I didn't know anything about this!"
"It's not worth bothering about really"
"Hey, sure it is. You're sister will be fine Joe. Maybe you haven't found the right girl yet, and lastly, you're not alone, ok. You're NEVER alone"
"But you've gone"
"I'm only across the hall, you can come over whenever you want silly, I see you everyday still"
"Yeah but it's not the same. I mean we used to tell each other everything, but now you're married and stuff, and I don't want to mess that up for you by being miserable"
"Joey, I'm always going to be here, yeah. I could live in Australia for all I care and I would still ring you every day"
"Really?"
"Of course I would! You're my best friend Joe, and you always will be. Nothing is going to change between us"
"Thanks"
"Now, let's have a manly hug" Chandler laughed as he pulled Joey in.
The two of them went back to normal because no matter where, no matter when, you're best friend is always there. Always.
