Game of Thrones: The Poem

When it begins one cannot say

But of this be assured

Escape is not an option once

Into the game ones lured

Some men play this game willingly

For power and for wealth

To dominate their fellow men

And to better them self

Some others serve a "noble cause"

And fight for honour and glory

In hopes that even if they die

Of them we will tell stories

Still others lust for vengeance

Want justice to be served

Play in the hopes of inflicting

The Punishment deserved

Most men just wish to live their lives

To see the dawn next day

They just want peace they do not care

What games the High Lords Play

But none are offered any choice

For once the game begins

An end is impossible 'til

One of the players wins

And all are drawn into the game

As fighters or supporters

Be they our closest neighbours

Or someone from over waters

Monarchs, Knights, Lords and Ladys

Peasants, Criminals, Maids

The liar and the honest man

And every Renegade

And those who claim there's middle ground

Are foolish or tell lies

For when one play's the Game of Thrones

One either wins or dies
