Rider on the White Horse
I stand in a battle field, my friends and loved ones lay on the bloody ground. I look below me and I see white corpse eyes gazing back at
me. I drop to my knees and weep over their body. A shudder ripples through the earth, I look up and the corpses stand above me. Their
lips don't move but I hear them. "Why didn't you tell us of the after life? Why did you let us die? Our blood is on your hands." Absolute
horror at what I had let happen filled my core. The dead ones disappear; instead I kneel before the King. He stands with a look of
disappointment on his face, oh how that look tears me apart. "I failed you my King!"
A white horse came up beside him and the King drew his sword. He gives me a nod mounts his horse. "Their blood is on your hands.
Your mistake can not be undone." His words cut deep, they were true. I wasted all that time in life doing what I wanted or what I was
comfortable with and never did what was important for His kingdom. As he rides off I weep, how could I have been so selfish? The King
gave me the most important gift anyone could ever receive and I took it for granted. I don't deserve any of this life; I deserve to be with
the corpses.
The voice of the Most High reaches my ear and reverberates through my soul. "It is forgiven." I stop to look up, but only to turn away at
the light. I feel it shine through me, exposing all that I am and more. I hide my face and try to hide from His glory, knowing it was useless
to hide from the Almighty. "Creator, I am not worthy to turn your gaze upon." Then I heard a joyous song from a thousand upon
thousand voices. "The King of Kings at His right hand. Glory to the Most High who rules the Heavens and the Earth." I wiped away my
tears and stepped into the welcoming light, forgetting all the pain and moving on.
I know, short but I think it's one of the nicer ones i've done.
