'Yaad-e-Mazi Aazab Hai Ya Rab...Cheen Lay Mujh Say Hafiza Mera...!'

He was sitting on the couch when a blurred past memory came in his mind.

Sitting on the bar table I was alone and then he came and asked.

"Lighter hai?"

The scene faded away and another one took its place.

He was standing on the highway, the same highway. He heard the sound of a car engine, it screeched as it came to halt just a few inches behind him. But he didn't turn around to see the visitor. The dectitives stepped out.

"Abhijeet!" said ACP Pradyuman. He stressed on his word, "Abhijeet!" and now he turned his gaze from the empty street towards the man, reluctantly.

"Pahchante ho?" ACP asked him.

"ACP-ACP Pradyuman," and gesturing towards the second man, "or yeh hein Inspector Daya."

"Hello sir!" Daya greeted Abhijeet.

"Daya kya soch rahe ho?" Abhijeet asked Daya as he found him lost, rather in a trance. Abhijeet's question brought him back from his past journey.

"Kch nhi boss." Daya smiled a bit. "Bss kch yaadein hamare ateet se juri hui yaad aa gyi."

Hearing this Abhijeet felt someone pinched his heart. He looked so vulnerable and watching him in this state Daya panicked.

"Boss, boss theek ho na?" He instantly got up, poured a glass of water and offered it to Abhijeet. Abhijeet drank the water. Daya who was sitting opposite to Abhijeet, now, was sitting beside him. He grabbed his hand and slightly pressed it. "Boss hamara ateet hi hamare sath hone ki wajah hai. Yaad hai boss agar tum iss tarah apni beeti zindagi ko hi talaash karte raho ge to bphir baki ki zindagi ka kya karo ge. Zindagi to jeete rahne ka hi naam hai."

"Haan yaar!" Abhijeet who was now a bit soothed by his brother's care, sighed. "Pta nhi yaar agar tu na hote to shiyad mein kisi saraak kinare (road side) para hota. Ya shiyad hota hi nhi_"

Daya interrupted, "Shhhhh…Dobara kabhi matt bolna esa kch bhi. Zindagi mein agar kabhi bhi tumme kisi ki zaroorat pari to yaad rakhna tum akele nhi ho. Ye tumhara bhi sath hai tumhare." He added, "Acha ye sab choro. Ye btao chai peo ge?"

Abhijeet laughed, "tum bnao ge?"

"Han boss bohat achi bnata hu." Daya said.

"Pta hai, pta hai…" Abhijeet said and laughed.

Sir se boss tak ka yeh safar sab se haseen hai.
