Bant wasn't completely sure how she'd found herself fitted snuggly against Qui-Gon's side with his muscled, well toned arms around her, her own arms around his waist, clinging to him almost as though he could protect her from the hurt she felt, on the couch in the main living area of his and Obi-Wan's quarters.
She had gone to him, knowing he was the best person to speak of her hurt and sorrows about her master, Tahl, since he had known her since he was a child and had been in love with her.
They poured their hearts out to each other on the couch, and Bant had broken down into tears, soon to find herself into her best friend's Master's comforting embrace.
The warmth of the big man's body, which dwarfed her own, and the late hour made her sleepy, and despite her attempts to remain awake, Bant fell asleep in the Master's embrace.
Qui-Gon felt the smaller body of Bant relax as she drifted into the first peaceful she'd had in a while and smiled slightly. He, too, felt sleep's pull and allowed it to take him over.
Obi-Wan came into his and his Master's quarters to be greeted by a sight he never expected.
His Master was sitting up, aslee on the couch, with Obi-Wan's best friend, Bant, tucked snuggly against his side, his arms around her, and her own arms around his waist, his great, noble head lightly resting on hers.
Obi-Wan smiled, carefully put a blanket over them, and went to bed.
Bant awoke early the next morning, surprised at the weight of Qui-Gon's head lightly resting on hers, though it was comforting, some of his long, dark brown, slightly graying hair falling down before her face, his warm, sweet, almost honey-scented, from whatever he had eaten before she arrived, breath drifting over her as he breathed steadily in his own sleep, and the blanket over them. She smiled as she knew Obi-Wan had put it over them, knowing she and Qui-Gon were fitted too snuggly together for either to move too much without distubing the other.
Still smiling, she very carefully nuzzled her head into the hollow of the tall Master's neck and went back to sleep in his comforting presence and embrace.
Qui-Gon awoke from her softly nuzzle into his neck, smiled, and drifted back to sleep as well, knowing it was too early to get up and he had no desire to do so even if it was.
