So I'm taking prompts on tumblr and writing drabbles, so if you have a request now's the time to ask. Find me at alliwantedwasignorance, or just ask in a review.
Chitaru is understandably confused.
You would be too if you happened to fall in love with the sweetest cutest girl you've ever met, who turned out to actually be one of the most lethal assassins of a dangerous organization, and also killed your teacher's daughter.
If it wasn't hard enough trying to figure out how to deal with this newly acquired information she also had to go on and perform witch said cutie (read: trained death machine) and be her Romeo (Honestly the irony of the situation was not lost on her). Needles to say her head wasn't in the play.
Being the straight forward person she is Chitaru Decided to just confront Hitsugi directly.
Well okay she did it in front an entire crowd of people and kinda spoke in code, but it's not as if she could have stopped the play and said 'Kirigaya you lied to me and broke my heart, and everything I know is a lie.'
What happened next was sorta crazy and totally true. Instead of just waiting till the play was over, ya know like a normal people, Chitaru decides to deal with the situation while the play was still going on. Hitsugi continues on with the script and just gives Chitaru this look, and at the last second she pulls Chitaru in and whispers against her lips "I love you" and kiss her, right there, in front of everyone (and in retrospect it was pretty poetic and sort of romantic) and Chitaru, completely heartbroken and devastated, pulls out a knife.
And no not one of the stage knives, a real knife made with metal and sharp as fuck. The question of whether she was going to use it or not was still up in the air but apparently Hitsugi makes the decision for her when she tugs on Chitaru's hand letting the blade pierce her. And if that wasn't bad enough Nio just had to come out and reveal that Hitsugi's wish was to be with her, that's when Chitaru finally reached the pinnacle of her teenage angst (or in this case gayngst) and drank the whole vile of (real) poison, the last thing she heard was the applause of the crowd as she drifted off into unconsciousness.
An unidentifiable amount of time later Chitaru finds herself in the hospital (fucking praise modern medicine) where she has had a lot of time to ponder her confusion, and have her confusion come by every day and talk to her (apparently Hitsugi refused to leave her bedside even though Chitaru has not attempted to talk to her)
Finally deciding that ignoring the problem won't make it go away Chitaru causally places her hand atop Hitsugi's and (finally) looks her in the eyes.
"You know that I'm incapable of saying these things," she begins, and Hitsugi has that smile on her face again, "and I've been thinking about it a lot, so I just wanted to say… You're a little shit, but I love you too"
