The One I've Become

I was sitting along at tranquil until it happened. It was unbelievably unexpected and utterly absurd for someone to behave so unnaturally. I thought he was insane and ridiculous, but just after a moment, I could feel pain. Pain that was so uncertain, so unfamiliar. It was something I wouldn't forget, even for a century.

It was my hobby to sit at tranquil places and let my mind sought of to the deep imaginations I've buried since childhood. It was the best thing on my mind right now, the only entertainment I had for almost a year and so. The meadow wasn't that common like what you saw in some hidden places, it was rarely different. The ground was full of dried, orange and yellow leaves and was soft against where I was sitting. It was like cushions.

The sun was bright on my face, lingering deep into my skin. I tried to soak up some Vitamin D as much as I can. I was wearing a shirt and some jeans staring flatly tree by tree surrounding me and then I heard something, something so silent that I could hardly believe that it was even audible to my own ears.

I heard the leaves crackle a little, their crispy stems breaking off in the softest of sound. I heard the wind blow into an unfamiliar way and I could feel someone approaching. It was like a silent spy, caring off each step that would mostly be gentle squeaking over the orange and yellow ground, but still I managed to hear just a little tiny bit of it. Someone was approaching.

I looked all around, tree by tree, leaf by leaf and space by space. It was empty. I was about to give up until I heard the crackling of leaves again—louder this time. I could sense the electricity running closer to my body, creeping through every inch of my skin. That's when I saw someone.

He was intimidating feline movements by the way he walked and moved. And then he disappeared again like supersonic. I stumbled while getting up and held the trunk for support. I ran toward the exit of this meadow until someone got there before I could.

The way he looked was different. He was olive-skinned, almost tanned, his eyes were coal black. It was frightening.

The next thing he did was extremely confidential that I wouldn't dare to say it here. All I knew was… after he did it, I ran and stumbled by the fire.

The pain was bewildering.

I couldn't imagine the pain to be like this. Someone's burning me.

I waited for the fire to stop, begging it to fade like nothing has ever happened. I began forming silent prayers inside my head, picking up different kinds of static whenever I try to make a decision. The pain was far too descriptive that I think that even words could describe the sudden throbbing of my body. The experience was merely vivid, that I could hardly believe that this was a dream—even if I try believing it too hard.

Then, someone stung me. With that, I faded away.
