Title: Much Later and Stone Cold Sober
Pairing: Lee/Kara, Kara/Zak (implied)
Spoilers: Daybreak.
Disclaimers: Pretty standard. I'm never gonna make any money off of this.
Much later and stone cold sober, Lee's pretty sure he's made biggest mistake of his life. But at this moment, all he can think is that he's the luckiest motherfrakker ever born. Because Zak's finally passed out and now Lee has Kara Thrace all to himself. And, while they're only discussing flying maneuvers, Lee's catching flashes of a certain look on Kara's face. An expression that most of Zak's girlfriends get when they realize that the older brother is a lot more⦠interesting than they originally thought.
"A girlfriend stealer," she'd teased. He wasn't. Not really. Admittedly, there had been a couple incidents in their teen years where girls had broken things off with Zak and then called Lee. This was different. He'd never responded to Zak's exes. Partly out of fraternal loyalty. Partly because they hadn't had the same taste in women. Until now, evidently.
The next shot blunts any remaining reticence. His baby brother can't possibly fully appreciate Kara. Not as a woman. Not as a pilot.
Much later and stone cold sober, Lee's pretty sure he's irredeemably twisted. Because he got just as hot and bothered by the prospect of flying with Kara as he did by the fantasy of frakking her. But at this moment, all he can think about is whether she's as turned on as he is.
He doesn't have to wonder for long.
"You and I." She dares him. "Right here. Right now."
And he would have, too. Except they're clumsy in their haste and the falling bottle rouses Zak just enough to mumble "Something's broken."
Much later and stone cold sober, Lee's pretty sure that's the understatement of a lifetime.
