Emmett POV
Aww, Bella looks so cute asleep! I can't believe I got suckered into babysitting Bella while the rest of my family went out to hunt. I mean, I care about my little sis but still, boring! I just hope they return soon so I can go home and challenge Jasper to a rematch….
Bella rolled over in her bed and I thought that she had woken up. "Edward…" she moaned. "No, Edward! Please don't leave me!" She was having a nightmare! I jumped to her side and tried to shake her awake. Her cries grew more desperate. Bella awoke with a gasp and started to sob. I don't know how to comfort a sobbing human! "It's okay Bella, you're fine." She wouldn't stop crying for jeez sake! Then I suddenly realized what her nightmare was about-when Edward had left to protect her! "Bella he'll be home soon." She breathing slowed and she stopped sobbing. After a moment Bella said "I'm sorry you had to see that Emmett. I have nightmares every time Edward leaves to hunt. It's silly, I mean I know he's coming back…" she trailed off. I hugged her tightly for a moment until I saw Edward slip through her open window. Wordlessly, I handed her off to him. I was about to leave when I turned and thought-Edward, she's really upset, and you should talk to her. Oh, and if you ever hurt my little sis again you'll have me to answer too. I didn't pause to see his face as I leaped out Bella's window. As I hit the ground I heard him say to me at vampire speed "Thank you." And then I heard him murmuring to Bella about how much he missed her.
