Imagination...
Dark night, path barely visible but guided with the small amount of moonlight peaking from behind the dark clouds.
Naruto is walking with his squad again.
Yamato taichou up at the front, leading.
Sai and Sakura following behind.
Naruto is unusually lagging behind, eyes in slant with sadness, deep in thoughts of his long lost friend.
Naruto unintentionally steps onto a large puddle and his foot gets wet. He stops and stares down at the puddle that is slowly re-smoothening the surface of the water that had been disturbed by small ripples.
Sakura notices that Naruto has stopped following and calls for Naruto who is downcast.
Naruto looks up and apologizes with a helpless smile.
Naruto starts moving forward again, behind the other three.
His face is behind the shadows, masking his solitary eyes.
That reflection...
For a moment it looked like his face...
No way could it have been...
I'm just imagining things...
But...
"Sasuke..." Naruto's lips moves to whisper his most desired.
In the darkness, a pair of red eyes flash from high above the trees, tracing the squad, before disappearing into the dark night once again.
