Misguidance
Jacob would lie awake in his bed, trying to convince himself that he didn't love Leah.
I don't love Leah.
I don't love Leah.
I don't love Leah.
He repeated the words over and over to himself, not sleeping until he was convinced.
The love for Leah always came back the next day, and he would tell himself again: I don't love Leah.
He knew he was lying to himself.
He loved Leah, it didn't matter what he tried to think.
Still, he tried to believe his lie, repeating it over and over in his head, until it was stuck in his head like a song with no tune, just words.
I don't love Leah.
I don't love Leah.
I don't love Leah.
No matter how many times he repeated it, he knew it was a lie.
