TITLE: The Bus Crash

The day began as any ordinary day in Mt Thomas. Tom was in his office drinking coffee, Jonesy was sorting out the dreaded property cage, Tess was attempting to contact Hayley and PJ was investigating a cold burg. Suddenly the radio squawked, 'Mt Thomas station come in over' Jonesy (who was wanting to go out and do something) quickly dived for the radio and replied. There was a quick reply from D24. 'Mt Thomas station, reports of a fully loaded bus involved in a serious accident on the old Wiggery Rd. Ambo's and rescue on route.' Jonesy sadly acknowledged the news. This wasn't the type of action Jonesy was after. Jonesy radioed PJ and organised to meet at the scene. Tom stuck his head out of his office wondering what all the commotion was about. Tess, Ben (who was washing the patrol cars) and Jonesy all rushed out to the vehicles.
It took them very little time to arrive on the scene, as there wasn't much traffic. (There never is) They were horrified when they arrived. There were bodies hanging out of windows and the smell of gas in the air. Jonesy's silly instincts made him just run to help someone. This was a huge mistake. The engine began to spark dangerously. Jonesy attempted to get out but it was too late. A huge fireball rose into the sky. Tess ran as fast as she could to see if he made it out in time. Ben was just about to radio Tom back at the station when Tess yelled that he was over here. Her yell was from the field just beside where the bus had crashed. PJ and Ben ran over to see how they could help. Jonesy had managed to escape by jumping out of a broken window. All that Jonesy suffered was a broken arm and the bad thoughts of all those dead people inside the bus….
Tess sadly inspected the wreckage while Ben tended to Jonesy. Jonesy informed PJ that he couldn't see anyone alive inside the wreck. While PJ was examining the scene, Tess radioed Tom back at the station and informed him of the whole incident and how they almost lost a fellow officer. Tom arranged to meet them at the hospital. PJ's investigation concluded that the bus was speeding and swerved to avoid a Kangaroo hopping across the road. The bus had rolled around 9times making it nearly impossible for anyone to of survived. Jonesy was off work for 3 weeks while his arm recovered. The first thing he said on his first day was that he sure was glad to be back. It was found that there were 36 people onboard all on their way to Melbourne. Mt Thomas was in mourning for weeks and they all see Jonesy as an Idiotic Hero…
