FADE IN - OPENING SCENE

INT. THE TALON - NIGHT

A dark haired young man who doesn't look to be more than 17 years old sat sitting in a corner, with a dim light overhead, watching a tall dark haired young man go about their evening. So this is him.

JON (V.O.)
There are some things in life that can't be changed, that shouldn't be changed. One choice affects another, then another, then another - and before you know it, you become a part of something great. That's how I feel right now, in this moment, but it doesn't feel so much as great as it is invasive. I shouldn't be here, and a part of me fears to be here, but what other choice did I have.

He continued to watch the young man across the room, but quickly broke contact when the guy noticed he was staring. He shifted almost uncomfortably in his chair, unwilling to make himself leave.

JON (V.O.) (cont'd)
My father always told me that we choose our own destiny, and that no standard is greater than the one's we set ourselves. His words never rang truer than they do right now, and I wished he was here to tell me what to do."

INT. KENT FARM - LATER THAT NIGHT

CLARK KENT, AGE 18, is in the kitchen helping his mom, MARTHA KENT clean the dishes. It was a nightly ritual whenever his mother was home. He sees his father, JONATHAN KENT come inside.

CLARK
(Nervously)
Mom. Dad. There's something I've wanted to tell you.

JONATHAN
(Breathe's deeply)
That doesn't sound too good.

MARTHA
(Concerned )
What is it, sweetheart?

CLARK
I visited the caves this afternoon, and things looked different.

JONATHAN
What do you mean different?

CLARK
I mean everything about the place is different. I'm getting this feeling like
(Stumbling to find the right words)
I don't even know how to describe it, but I know it's familiar.

MARTHA
Do you think Jor-El is trying to send you another message?

She hoped that wasn't the case

CLARK
No, I don't think that's it. Like I said, it felt different this time.

JONATHAN
That doesn't mean we can't be careful

He puts a reassuring hand on his son's shoulder

JONATHAN (Cont'd)
AND I want you to be careful, son.

INT. KAWACHI CAVES - NIGHT (24 Hours Ago)

The symbols throughout the cave begins to glow a reddish yellow glare, culminating into one giant light in a single area, and then it was gone and a young man remained. He stood up carefully, surveying his surroundings. He had no coverings yet he neither felt hot or cold.

Shakily moving about, a sudden wave of images began swirling in his mind, almost like memories from a dream. Images of a little boy being covered with a red blanket by a woman whose face he couldn't see. Images of being held by a man across the sky with nothing but air beneath them. He felt affection, warmth, love -- then it all came back to him. The woman. The man. They're his parents. And the boy? It was him.
