NOTE:
I just got passed this part in FF9 and I decided to make a fic out of what happened to Vivi during the Festival! Please don't be too hard! (I just got to Qu's Marsh!) This may be crappy.Vivi and the Festival of Hunt
Vivi's hands trembled as he held onto his wooden staff. W-why'd you sign me up for this Zidane? He sighed as he looked around the corner of the house he hid behind. A Fang hid in the shadows of a nearby house. Vivi slowly walked out of the shadows. That's when the fang jumped out from behind the house. Vivi jumped back in surprise. "N-n-nice Fang…leave me alone…" he said as he backed away. The beast snarled at the young black mage as he raised his staff. Steady Vivi…you can do this… It began to charge at him. Vivi did the first thing that came to mind. He turned and began to run faster than he had ever run before. Okay maybe you can't!!! He ran into the center of the Industrial District passing Zidane as he ran by. Zidane spun around to see his friend being chased by the beast. He sighed and hurried into the center of the district.
The fang backed Vivi into a nearby alley. A large brick wall prevented him from running. He spun around when he heard the Fang's snarl. Vivi jumped up, raising his staff at the same time. Flames engulfed the beast in an instant. He ran out of the alley leaving the corpse of the monster behind. He ran back into the center of district. Another Fang shadowed him as he walked though the monster-infested town. Without making a sound it began to charge at him. Vivi spun around and stared at the oncoming monster. Unable to react he began trembled as it charged at him. He raised his staff in defense as a figure in pink came crashing down upon the Fang, spear impaling the monster.
"Are you okay?" The figure asked.
Oh wait that's Zidane's friend, Freya I think.
"I-I'm fine now. Thanks…" Vivi stammered."I can't believe Zidane signed up a young mage like yourself for a dangerous festival like this. Protect yourself."
She was gone in the blink of an eye. The few minutes where soon up. Vivi sighed with relief. Glad that's over…hope I won't have to go though another Festival like that again. He thought as he headed back to the castle to meet Zidane and his friends. Vivi didn't even hear who was the winner. Well…maybe if I didn't run I could have had a chance. Maybe I'll try again next year.
