Edward
I gazed outside my Parisian window, smiling at all I was going to miss. The food. The wonderful people. The lights. The excitement. But I presume it was for the best.
I was thrilled Alice mentioned something about me living with her in Forks. I needed a fresh life. I needed normal. France wasn't giving that to me. With all of the temptations lurking around me, it was hard to concentrate. I was a vampire. I was a monster. People didn't deserve to die from my ravenous desires. It was too much for me.
Forks was a small town in Washington. Population 3,120 people. Excluding me. I didn't really have a thing for small towns. If something happens, peeping little birds are always at your doorstep. It was frustrating. But my bloodlust was worse. For months I've covered up my tracks. 3 killings this week, 6 last week. I feel pretty foolish. For being over 100 hundred years old and not being thoughtful of my actions is pretty messed up. I hated it. My throat rose with the familiar fire as I pondered. My thoughts were soon interjected when a knock came at my hotel door. My ears rang from the sound, and I cringed. I hurriedly opened the door.
" Mr. Cullen , your cab is here for your flight. Wouldn't want to be late," the young man said. His voice was drenched in accent.
" Yes, sir."
He carried my luggage to the cab as I said my goodbyes to him.
Alice was there at the airport to pick me up. I could easily spot her petite figure. Pitch black spiky hair bouncing in her strides as she ran to me. She crashed into my chest as she gave me a warm embrace.
" Hello, Alice , " I chuckled. She joined my laughter.
" I've missed you so much."
" Same here." My jaw clenched as the scents surrounded me. My head was spinning and my throat burned. Alice quickly dragged me out, and I gave an exhale.
I could certainly tell I was in a new place. It wasn't sunny. At all. The cloud cover gave a misty and malevolent feel to the atmosphere. I could easily smell the dew coming off of the bushes around me. It consumed around me, and I couldn't have felt more relaxed. Alice snapped me back into reality.
" Have you been feeding on human blood, Edward?", she whispered harshly. I felt ashamed of myself. She already knew my answer. " Why?", she asked sternly.
" You know it's been a struggle for me…, " I trailed off.
" Well, get your act together, Edward. School's back in session." She smirked.
What?
