Note: This may not get finished. But I do hope to get to the interesting parts real soon.

Snow crunched beneath soft, pink paw pads as a dangerous mammal stalked its prey. Ahead of it was a fairly large male deer. Its antlers rose proud above its head, making the small horn on its nose seem insignificant. The deer's large ears twitched but it heard nothing and resumed grazing. The muscled predator stalked a few feet forward and stopped. Its shoulders tensed as it readied to pounce. With a great push of its back legs the beast leapt towards its prey. The deer had little chance of surviving.

A golden pelted saber-tooth walked through a few shrubs, arriving at a stream. He looked down in the water, seeing his reflection. Snarling slightly he dipped his paw in the crystal clear water and washed it over his face.

"Doubt they'd want me around with blood on my face," Diego mumbled as he finished cleaning his face.

Further downstream two possums, going by the names of Crash and Eddie, were playing a game of how far they could lean over the water without falling in. It didn't stay a fair game for very long.

"Betcha can't lean over as far as I did," Crash crossed his arms over his chest.

"I can too," Eddie used his tail as balance and leaned way over the water.

Crash used his long, pink tail to gently shove his brother into the water. Eddie gasped as the cold water rushed around his head as he started to bob downstream.

"That's for wetting my bed!" Crash yelled as he dashed across the bank to catch up with his Eddie.

Eddie lashed out his tail, grabbing his brother around the neck and pulling him in.

"Now we're even," Eddie stuck out his tongue.

Crash growled but stopped when the two floated passed something on the shore. He climbed out along with Eddie. In front of them laid the skeleton of a deer with rotting meat and fur still clinging to some of the bones.

"Nasty!" Eddie pinched his nose.

"Hey Diego!" Crash cupped his paws and yelled upstream.

Diego turned his head and ran downstream to the possums. He wrinkled his nose in disgust as the scent of rotting meat hit it.

"Did you do that?" Eddie questioned as he grabbed Diego's sabers and looked him straight in the eye.

"No," Diego shook his head, knocking Eddie over. "I just caught my first kill in days today. This was only killed I say about a day or two ago."
