Another short drabble thing. I was just thinking about all the things that had happened to the cast and well, footie isn't such a fun sport any more is it?
Disclaimer: I don't own IE, i simply own my thoughts on the matter.
Soccer. The greatest sport in the world, a sport that brings different people together, regardless of who they were, what they did, how old they were. Friend or foe, boy or girl, as long as they all played soccer, somehow things would work out.
Training together, falling together, laughing together. It was just friends playing a harmless sport right? Nothing bad could come out of it, nothing life changing. Nothing that could haunt their memories, lingering in their subconscious, constantly reminding them of things they once had, once did. Things they were ashamed of, people they hurt, people who died because of the sport.
How many people had died for the sport they loved? How many had been offered as sacrifices for the demon lord? No doubt most of them had never even played it before they were taken. How many girls ending up as brides to a demon?
Soccer didn't remain as a sport that was played for fun. Aliea Academy arrived. Schools destroyed because they were powerless to stop the might of their shoots. The same scornful line each time- 'Earth has a saying that goes like this…' Half of Raimon sent to hospital, their own shots used against them. Just like Zeus junior. Even when they defeated Gemini Storm, the aliens were subjected to their own torture, exile.
Epsilon, not content with their power, desperate to remain, underwent more training. What hell did they endure to achieve it? And it was no use. Players watched in horror as they were exiled too.
Fubuki fought his own battle with himself. He was slowly being destroyed from the inside out, haunted by his brother's personality and his father's last words. Kazemaru drove himself away, convinced he was worthless, returning later to fight his former companions, people he had spent his life with. And even Endou's spirit was crushed as he sat lifeless in the rain.
How many people had been injured? What would they do for victory? Shin Teikoku's players drove themselves to the limit of their endurance. Zeus junior drank Aqua of the Gods, unaware of what else it might do to them. Players desperate for power took the power of the Aliea meteorite. A man desperate to win ordered his foster children to release the limiter, knowing what it would do to them. A man desperate for revenge killed people and tried to murder high school students. The blood of countless people stained the lush green grass generations had played on.
Perhaps it wasn't such a bad idea for soccer to be controlled. It couldn't be any worse than what had already happened.
A/N: I much prefer saying Football cos I'm British. But it didn't go. I love IE, I love the football they play, but man is it more fun writing about sad stuff. Endou promotes it and I take on the role of his mother.
