Kiss the Girl
By TangoAida

There you see her
Sitting there across the way
She don't got a lot to say
But there's something about her
And you don't know why
But you're dying to try
You wanna kiss the girl

She looks so beautiful sitting there Roger thought to himself. He and Mimi were sitting at a booth in the Life Café, just enjoying each other's company.

Yes, you want her
Look at her, you know you do
It's possible she wants you, too
There is one way to ask her
It don't take a word
Not a single word
Go on and kiss the girl

"Roger? You okay?" Mimi asked, making Roger jump.

"Yeah, I'm fine. You just look – so – so, um." He had never been tongue-tied when he was with her.

"You're acting really weird." Mimi told him, raising an eyebrow as she took a bite of her tofu burger.

Sing with me now
Sha-la-la-la-la-la
My, oh, my
Look at the boy too shy
He ain't gonna kiss the girl
Sha-la-la-la-la-la
Ain't that sad
Ain't it shame, too bad
You gonna miss the girl

After dinner, the two of them decided to take a boat ride around the lake. Mimi rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes.

Now's your moment
Floating in a blue lagoon
Boy, you better do it soon
No time will be better
She don't say a word
And she won't say a word
Until you kiss the girl

"Doesn't this remind you of something?" Roger asked after a while.

"What?" Mimi inquired, opening an eye.

"I remember watching The Little Mermaid with my sister when I was growing up and there was a scene in the movie similar to this." Roger told her, not realizing he was babbling.

"You watched The Little Mermaid?" Mimi asked, a wicked grin spreading across her face.

"You gotta promise you won't tell anyone." Roger said, his voice firm.

"I promise." Mimi told him, sitting up so that she was facing him. Roger leaned his head down and tried to kiss her, but Mimi moved so that she could wipe her nose.

Sha-la-la-la-la-la
Don't be scared
You got the mood prepared
Go on and kiss the girl
Sha-la-la-la-la-la
Don't stop now
Don't try to hide it how
You wanna kiss the girl
Sha-la-la-la-la-la
Float along
Listen to the song
The song say kiss the girl
Sha-la-la-la-la-la
Music play
Do what the music say
You wanna kiss the girl

By the end of the boat ride, Roger had attempted ten times to kiss Mimi, but each one of them failed.

The two of them decided that they'd had enough of boats and water, so they decided to walk home. They talked about everything and nothing until they reached the loft.

You've got to kiss the girl
Why don't you kiss the girl
You gotta kiss the girl
Go on and kiss the girl

"Well, this is my stop. I had a wonderful ti-" Mimi closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around Roger's neck. He had finally given up fighting the urge to kiss Mimi and did it. He loved the way how Mimi's lips tasted – salty and cherry lip balm. He closed his mouth over hers and slid his tongue down her throat, hoping that she didn't mind. After a moment, Mimi pulled away and headed into her loft, smiling at Roger. He knew that they would be doing that again sometime soon.
