Gemini Prologue:
The young woman gazed at her husband before turning her gaze to her sleeping infants. "Do you think the legend of the bone-eaters well could possibly be true, Aoi dear?"
Rumor had it that if an object or the remains of youkai were disposed of into the old well, that it would mysteriously vanish without trace. Some believed it lead to another realm, acting as a gateway only allowing those connected to a destiny to move through the passage.
"It has to be for if the prophecy is correct, the life, of one of our babies, is in danger...Tis a rare thing for twins to be born, even moreso the unnerving and untapped power that lies within the younger of our two... she would be in grave danger; word would spread quickly of this event...Youkai would come to destroy her, in hopes, to evade a potential threat to their kind..."
Aoi stared at his wife.
The unspoken pain of her choice ; the unwillingness to part with one of her young - it lingered in her eyes. Her face was drawn and slightly pale, but carrying a determined expression to do what was best.
"I shall take my little one to the well...as her mother, I shall do this...I only hope that she has a safer existence then the one that would be here..."
"Nagi...my love...are you sure?"
"Yes...yes I am"

Nagi moved quickly through the darkening forest.
Time was starting to run thin - she had to make sure that the child was safely through the well before it was too late.
She could see the well in the poorily lite clearing. It's rickety form casting a long shade across the forest floor, creeping it's way to the edge of the area.
She walked up to it. With one arm, she carefully supported her sleeping child while using the other to firmly grasp the well's rough edge to peer into black depth.
Nagi cautiously removed the rope loop from around her free arm. Tying it securely to her baby, she began to gently lower her in. She gazed over the edge and watch as her child vanished into thin air.
Tears sled down her seemingly calm face. 'I hope that this was for the best. Please be safe...'
