The bright full moon casted a glittery light amongst the huge trees in the forest beneath it. Stars were twinkling in the dark sky above. Not a cloud was seen. The night was perfect, peaceful.
Three people rounded a campfire, trying to keep warm from the chilling autumn winds that blew against them. Leaves of orange hues moved from the pressure the winds caused, falling gently on their heads.
The only girl among them looked up, her bright sapphire eyes twinkling because of the moon's light, giggling as one leaf fell astray on her nose.
"Why are you laughing, May? It's just a stupid leaf," a deep male voice rang through the forest, drowning the silence in the forest that stayed a little while.
"What's your problem, Drew?" her voice irritated.
"You laugh at little things that shouldn't be laughed at. How stupid is that?" he shot back, leaning back on the old tree that grew at the back.
Rolling her eyes, she lay down on her sleeping bag, hoping that she'll get some sleep.
Silence dawned upon them. The brunette finally fell asleep.
"So, what's with the both of you anyway? Are you like, together?" Khan was the name of the other guy.
"That's quite the question, considering that we just met this morning," he said, his green hair covering a part of his handsome face.
"I just, you know, curious. The both of you fight a lot over tiny things. Over the time, that tiny thing becomes a really big thing. In the end, I'm the one getting slapped on the face because I'm saying that the both of you shouldn't over those tiny things," Khan pointed out.
"Hey! Blame her! She's the one that keeps on slapping you!"
"Just answer me. Do you love her?" he asked Drew, hoping to get an answer this time.
Drew tried his best to wiggle out of this tight situation. Will he tell Khan and risk the fact that he might tell May when she wakes up or will he keep his secret forever secret?
"Don't you ever try to wiggle out of this, Drew! I know you have feeling for her."
'Darn! I have no other choice' that little, tiny voice inside Drew's head rang. He hung his head low in defeat and nodded slightly.
"Aha! I knew it! You love her!" he shouted loudly, enough to bring the dead back to life. Drew heard a moan.
'No! Don't tell me she heard Khan!' he was alarmed, worried that his secret of loving May won't be kept a secret for much longer. Now that May knew, she might run and he may never see her again.
The brunette sat up.
"Um… I'm going to look for some water. I'm thirsty," Khan excused himself, not wanting to get into an argument that would surely begin once he's gone.
Drew's face was as white as a sheet. His expression was confirmed when May spoke.
"Do you really love me, Drew?" she asked.
"Um… I… Uh…" Drew didn't know what to say.
May rested her head on his shoulder.
"Answer me, Drew," she looked up into his eyes. They were dull and lifeless, head hung low. "Do you love me, Drew?"
Drew nodded his head.
"I love you, too, Drew."
