Honestly, it was completely impossible for anyone to hold a decent conversation these days. Such was the case that Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth were now finding themselves in. The two had just wanted to talk, was that so much to ask? But no, in the middle of their conversation, Trucy had come bounding up to them, cutting the two men off and turning said conversation into an awkward silence.
"Umm, what is it, Trucy?" Phoenix finally asked. "You know you just interrupted..."
"Daddy, I need some money!"
"Wait, what? Why?"
"I just do! Come on!"
"First of all Trucy, we were talking here..."
"I need to buy some more panties!" she exclaimed. "Please, just give me the money."
"Trucy, I really don't think you need..."
"Yes I do! Please, Daddy, pleeeeease?" she finished, giving him the most endearing look she could.
Phoenix sighed. "No, Trucy. I already gave you your allowance."
Her expression immediately changed to a pout. "But Daddy, I really need them!"
"I'm sorry, but you'll just have to wait."
"You're no fair, Daddy!" she exclaimed, clearly on the verge of throwing some sort of fit. "Why won't you..."
However, just then, Miles Edgeworth, who had been silently watching this exchange, reached into his coat and produced a small wad of bills, handing them to the girl. She went quiet at that moment, a smile returning to her face.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!" she squealed, taking the money from him.
"That's right, Trucy," Miles said reassuringly. "Mommy loves you."
Trucy merely giggled, bounding away from the two of them.
Phoenix stared at Miles for a moment, a look that was anything but approving on his face. "Why..." he began slowly. "Why must you always do that?"
