A Gundam Wing/AC Fan Fiction

"Quatre's Moment"

By Bloody Priestess

~...~

Summary: A Post War Poem. Quatre's violin recital in his Space Colony Home. His encounter with one of the new Gundam Pilots... This is meant to whet your appetites for my upcoming fic "Intermission".

Lights concentrated down to the hub of this stage

With emotions apparently sweeping past its ledge,

I took a bow and felt my violin within clasp,

Assenting melodies to course beyond memories' grasp…

There was not a thought of the impending war

Behind this violin pieces' musical score,

For a moment I felt all of hard-fought and deserved peace

Spectators' smiles on connecting with my piece…

Brusquely time stands still then a loud explosion

The nostalgic music dies under the commotion,

My audience—they frightfully scream and flee

In recollecting that we're not truly free…

I was brought to halt and start to stare

At that brilliantly glistering flare,

It disperses, approaching us, our awaited salvation!

It arrives, a Gundam—giving us righteous retribution…

My home, my space colony trembles and shakes

As another threatening explosion breaks,

At last silence for now as the battle ends

The battered Mobile Suit enters port and descends…

Curiosity made me sprint towards the suit docks

Abruptly, stopping in astonishment and shock,

The Gundam pilot guised no older than sixteen

Shehad tresses of coal-hue and eyes of jade green…

My stunning hero glances back at me impassively

Pretentious of what she was and is obviously!

Still I smiled with my deeply felt gratitude

But she strides away with footsteps echoing a multitude…

Watching her reminds her too much of me

Knowing too well what she will inescapably be,

A campaigning soldier devoid of youthful innocence

In order to safeguard the resolution that is nonviolent silence…

I share her sentiments for she and I are of the same kin

Living day to day in a struggle tinted in utmost dim,

Looking back her figure ceases… giving me an anew torment,

Envisioning her shall remain eternally—yes, more than just a moment.

The End.
