"Red!" She shouts, anxiously running after the charcoal-haired male, who merely turns at the sound of her voice.
Stupid. Stupid. Of course I would be the one to make him want to leave thanks to being selfish.
"I...I..." She stops once she catches up, her breathing hitched by the tears that threaten to easily spill down her cheeks and fall onto the dusty ground.
"Touko." Is all he can respond with.
After aeons, moments, the brunette finally chokes out, "Don't leave me." It's silent as a breeze yet cracks at him like a whip.
The red-eyed male steps forwards and brushes the tears from her face. Gently moving from tear to tear, he carefully prevents a single drop from sliding down to her chin, let alone let one fall. With a shudder, the girl across him immediately buries her face in his chest, grasping onto the fabric of his vest and begins to confess.
"I...I need you, Red. Don't go. Don't...please..." Her words are soft and muffled, pressed between him and her, and awkwardly, he raises his arms and hugs her tightly. Touko looks up and meets his startled gaze with her soulful blue eyes, and adds, "I love you too much."
It's all Red can do to respond with anything. Impassively, he blinks, and the legend speaks as he tightly embraces her. "I'd never leave you," he replies slowly, the words still feeling foreign to him, "Because I still love you."
