Once upon a time, there was a little country in the corner of the world. The country's name was Uzanazione, which literally meant Grape Country. Now, in this country, there was a little castle right smack in the center of it. The castle watched over the two feuding sides of the country. The eastern half called themselves The Redwines, and the western half called themselves The Whitewines. The reasoning for their names was the strange occurrence that happened in the castle courtyard.

On the walls, all the way around, were many grapevines. The strange thing was, the eastern half of the courtyard only harbored purple grapes, and the western side only tolerated green grapes. The few that were stuck in between were half green, half purple. No one could explain it and there were many scientists from far off lands coming regularly to study this phenomenon. It baffled many until, one day, an old woman hobbled up to the castle.

She knocked with her stout birch cane on the large doors.

"Hello? I would lIke to solve the mystery of the grapes!" The scientists rushed to the door and many tried to throw her out of the courtyard, telling her that she was a foolish biddy that should stay at home. She rapped them all on the head with her cane and told them that they were supposed to be smart.

The king and queen of the land ca me to see what all the commotion was.

The queen then spoke up, amused at the antics in front of her. "It wouldn't hurt to let her try, would it?" The scientists stopped and bowed to the queen, lots rubbing their head as they did so, shooting glares at the calm old woman. The old lady broke into a grin and skipped into the courtyard.

Now, this seemingly harmless old woman was secretly a fairy who wanted the land to be at peace. When she was outside, she told them as such and walked up to the dividing line of the courtyard where there were two-color grapes. She plucked two, and handed one to the queen and one to the king.

She told them both, "King, take your grape to a promping young lad from The Redwines and tell him to eat the grape. Queen, take your grape to a kind young woman from The Whitewines and tell her to eat it." She left, with no further instructions, leaving the two monarchs very confused at what it would accomplish.

They did as they were told and gave their grapes to the most promising and the kindest of the two halves. The Fairy had bewitched the grapes to make the two who ate them to fall in love with each other. The two met, and got married, much to their parents dismay.

They did good deeds in their life, and the King and Queen left the country to them after they died. There were no more wars, and I was born.

The princess of the land is me, Uzaprincipessa.

The grape princess.
