I sighed as I entered my empty living room and sunk down on the overstuffed couch. I would be spending yet another prime day indoors alone. Outside a gentle rain was falling, making the mid afternoon skies a dull gray. It was this weather that I loved best. To me, it was not just some dull, dreary day; it was the perfect time to be out playing rugby in the park. Instead, I was here. Alone. Again. Mentally I cursed myself. Resigned to my fate, I grabbed the remote and idly began to channel surf. It was a waste of time of course. There was nothing on, but then, when is there ever? Mustering up what little motivation I had left, I shuffled my way over to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and stood there looking into my shrine expectantly. Nothing. Or at least nothing that came pre-cooked without tasting pre-packaged. Oh well. Mumbling ancient curses I made my way back to the couch. I spent a good fifteen minutes sitting there in a board stupor, when the phone rang, scaring me to wits end. After I managed to pick myself and what was left of my pride up off of the floor, I snatched the cordless device off of its stand and growled a terse greeting to the unsuspecting caller. "S..Syaoran? Uh, umm.hi." As soon as I heard the soft voice, I regretted my harsh salutation. "Sakura?" For the first time in weeks my facial muscles began to pull up into a small half smile. I felt a warm flush rise up my neck and pass through my cheeks. It was amazing what just saying her name could do to me. " Oh thank goodness I got a hold of you!" She sounded breathless. Something was wrong. She needed me to come and protect her from the raging forces of darkness. I quickly attempted to assess the situation. "What's going on? Where are you? Stay calm and I'll be there shortly." "Uh.um," "Hurry it up Kinomoto!" I didn't mean to snap at her, but I need to be able to get to her as quickly as I could. "Uh, I'm at Tomoyo's." She said quickly. "Okay. Don't worry, I'm on my way!" I slammed down the receiver and ran out the door.
