Summary: Set during season two. Sully has just sailed away on the boat, and Booth appears on the dock. Alternate ending to Boneless Bride In The River episode. Songfic.

Brennan stood on the dock watching Sully float further away from her. She couldn't believe he actually left her. He told her that he was getting serious in this relationship, and yet he leaves her anyway. "Just like everybody else in my life." Brennan thought. A tear started cascading down her cheek as she turned around to go home.
She was surprised to see Booth standing there when she turned around. "Booth what are you doing here?" she asked.
Booth simply smiled and stepped closer to her. He took his thumb and wiped the tears from her face.
"I can see that you've been crying
You can't hide it with a lie,
What's the use in you denying
That what you have is wrong.
I heard him promise you forever

Brennan stepped away from him shaking her head. "No Booth."
He enveloped her in his arms, and kissed her.
She broke free and stepped away from him again. "Not now."

He envelopes her in his arms again, and holding her tight this time, despite her struggling.

Brennan began to cry harder and Booth kissed her on the forehead. "I love you Bones."
"I love you too." Brennan sniffled.
Booth smiled leaning down to kiss her. She returned the kiss eagerly, and after a few minutes they broke apart. "Diner for lunch?" "I'd love to."
"Since it's eleven wouldn't it be brunch?" "By the time we get there it will be lunch time." "It takes you an hour to get to the diner?" "You know what Bones, how about now that you're my girlfriend, you just go with me." "That's not going to happen." "I tried."
Brennan laughed at him, and pecked him on the cheek.
