Braxiatel opened his eyes. He gingerly pushed himself to his feet, every bone in his body protesting. Looking around he couldn't see the guard that usually adorned the corner of the room. Marshal Anson must have thought he was out cold.

Limping slightly, he managed to stagger to the window. Outside the Collection was silent, moonlight shining down on the lake.

"Poor Chancellor Braxiatel." A voice sounded behind him. Braxiatel didn't bother turning around, he knew that voice only too well.

"Pandora." He murmured, keeping his gaze fixed on the lake.

"You poor thing. Cast out of Gallifrey and left to suffer at the hands of these.. primitives." Pandora stopped beside him.

"I left Gallifrey to save it."

Pandora shrugged. "Keep telling yourself that."

"Look at your Collection, Chancellor. Look at what they're doing to it."

Braxiatel gave a harsh laugh. "I don't see what you can do about it. You are nothing more than a figment of my imagination."

"I can help you. I've seen inside your mind, your ambition." She sidled closer, her voice soft and enticing. "All you have to do is release me and I can help you. You have so much power, so much potential. I can help you save the Collection." She leaned forward, so close he could feel her warm breath on his cheek.

He backed away, his eyes like chips of ice. "Do you really think I'm so naïve? I'm perfectly aware of what would happen if you were to take control. So I have to regretfully decline your offer."

Pandora gave him a sly look. "Even at the cost of your Collection?"

Braxiatel remained silent.

"We're not so different, you and I. We both care about survival."

He stood still as she wrapped her arms around his neck. "You can't deny that."

"No. I can't."

Braxiatel snapped opened his eyes. He was lying on the floor and weak sunshine was streaming in through the window. He coughed as the guard gave him another kick in the ribs.

"Come on. Get up." The guard snapped. "There's someone here to see you."

Braxiatel struggled to his feet. He smiled as Benny entered the room, being careful not to wince as she hugged him.

"Are you alright?"

He managed a faint smile. "Of course."
