All this time Sasuke has been chasing after the brother that he lost. But Itachi never allowed him to see the depths of his soul until it was too late - forever unreachable.

I seem to have taken a liking to poetry :) ...Or I'm just too lazy to write a complete story ^^"

Caged Soul

Have you ever tried to cage a soul –

Which should be an impossible feat?

I've tried by fair means and foul,

Didn't fight shy of lies and deceit.

Yet my despair could never twine

Around your soul enough

To make your heart beat in synch with mine.

The sea of tears was just too rough.

Why couldn't I cage your soul

When you so easily caged mine?

My heart – you devoured it whole

While I failed to ensnare thine.

Have you ever tried to cage a soul –

Which should be an impossible feat?

Yet you did and ripped a hole

Where my self once lay asleep.

With your own bare hands

You tore my chest to shreds,

Took my very core to distant lands.

The faster I run, the farther it gets.

The bars are made of steel

But the caged soul strides proudly within the confines.

The elegance of sorrow seems genteel

While the lonely prisoner pines

For another to keep him company

In his never-ending misery.
