This is the moment he kisses her. The room is dark and he can't hear the noise of the city past the beating of his heart and her breathing. This is the first moment, for them. He tugs her gently in the direction of his bedroom.

This is the moment, the last moment before she goes to sleep. His strong arms are wrapped around her. She is struggling to stay awake because there is nothing better than this.

This is the moment he looks at her the next morning, still asleep in his bed, one last time before leaving the apartment. He can't resist, and kisses her softly on the crown of her head. Then he leaves her a note and goes to work.

This is the moment she awakens to an empty apartment, and sighs as she realises he's not there. Then she smiles when she sees the note. It starts with Montana.

This is the moment after his day goes to hell. He is running for his life, trying to find the others, trying to protect the lab techs, glass shattering around him, when there is a shout and his world disappears.

This is the moment she switches on the radio, shortly after arriving back at her apartment. She is carrying groceries, and a few other things essential to a romantic night in. She is putting away a can of soup when she hears the report.

This is the moment he makes plans and prays and is thankful that she is not here. A signal, and all hell breaks lose. While he does what he has to do, she is every beat of his heart.

This is the moment she stands outside, lost in the organised chaos. Everyone has made it out- but two. A demand has been made, and to her left her boss is arguing with his boss. For a moment, she can't think, she can't move, and her heart is breaking with every beat it makes.

This is the moment he is free, the last man is dead, and amidst the heavily armed cops who have swarmed the building, all he can think about is her. He steps out into the sunlight, and for a moment he cannot believe it. Then he sees her.

This is the moment she finds him again, whole but not unharmed. She does not see those who had stepped forward to great him, and stopped. She does not feel the tears running down her face. And this is the moment she is wrapped up in his arms once more.
